Interview with Bluechiphomepage.

First of please introduce yourself and your site to our readers?

Bluechiphomepage.com provides advertisers with Premium and Free Pixel Advertising. In 2006 we are offering advertisers an opportunity to win an iPod Nano for every 100 $20 boxes sold.

Most people have been inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage, where did you get your inspiration from?

This is going to sound strange. I had heard a little about pixel ads and one day clicked through to www.savemypenis.com which is a site where a guy is raising money for charity. He was running an auction on eBay for a large space on his site and I decided to buy it. I wasn’t sure how I was going to use the ad space but he had generated significant traffic and I thought it was a good investment. With my interested peaked, I surfed around and landed on the Million Dollar Homepage and was amazed at how large this really was. The gears started turning and Bluechiphomepage.com was launched.

What software do you use to run your pixel page and why did you choose it?

We use Million Pixel Script. So far we have found it reliable, to be easy to configure and feature rich. Most importantly, the customer interface is easy to use. Pixel advertisers are familiar with the flow of the software.

What makes your site different or special, what angle have you taken for your Pixel page?

Our difference is we provide our top level premium advertisers with an opportunity to win an iPod Nano. For every 100 $20 boxes sold, one advertiser will win. We feel this is a great incentive for advertisers.

The original pixel page generated traffic mainly through viral marketing mainly spawned by media interest, how do you generate traffic to your site?

We use various methods of ad placement, public relations and viral techniques.

What do you offer potential advertisers, how much do you charge and how much traffic do you envisage an advertiser could generate by advertising with you?

We offer three advertising levels. 20 cents per pixel, 5 cents per pixel and our freezone. After our first few days of operation we are very pleased with the traffic results. Our goal is to have a considerable Alexa ranking which will of course benefit our advertisers.

Currently the top 5 Alexa ranked pixel sites enjoy a lot of interest from the public. How long do you think this will last, is there a long term future for pixel pages?

Although 5 months is a long internet timeframe, this technique is still very young. We expect to see many permutations of pixel ad marketing and our goal is to be a significant part of the industry.

Besides your own pixel page, which other pixel page do you secretly admire and why?

Of course I have to mention milliondollarhomepage.com which started it all.

Thanks for your time in answering these questions. Before you go are there any comments you want to impart to our pixel hungry readership?

Nothing to add.
