Interview with MillionPixelsAdvert.

First of please introduce yourself and your site to our readers?

www.MillionPixelsAdvert.com is owned by a 20-year-old computer science student, who is keen on playing basketball, meeting with his friends and watching comedies. I have no previous experience in running any website but I’m learning very quickly. This site provides premium pixels for affordable 1$ each for at least 3 years..

Most people have been inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage, where did you get your inspiration from?

I run into Alex’s site when he sold only couple of ads. Since then many have changed. Honestly I never thought that this idea is worth anything. But time showed me wrong. I visited his site months later and it was almost full. That’s when I realized how mistaken I was. I decided to run my own pixel advertising site. All credits goes to milliondolllarhomepage.com.

What software do you use to run your pixel page and why did you choose it?

I am using Million Pixel Script by texmedia.de as it is user friendly and has many options.

What makes your site different or special, what angle have you taken for your Pixel page?

I am trying to make my site as friendly as possible. Many sites offer very poor layout and the visual effect is not nice. I hope my site is not one of them. I am constantly working on making this site better and better. Nice environment, good adverts exposure and traffic are my goals. Visit the site to check if I made it.

The original pixel page generated traffic mainly through viral marketing mainly spawned by media interest, how do you generate traffic to your site?

I am using google AdWord service to promote this site, viral marketing, I also participate in forums dedicated to pixel advertising, and last but not least I write press releases. I am advertising on other pixel sites to generate more traffic and using top site listings to become recognizable on the internet. I will try to add other marketing strategies into being as the site grow.

What do you offer potential advertisers, how much do you charge and how much traffic do you envisage an advertiser could generate by advertising with you?

I am offering premium pixels for 1$ each with minimum purchase of 1 block (10X10 pixels). You can use Moneybooker, AllPay, AlertPay, e-Gold services in order to pay for your pixels.

Currently the top 5 Alexa ranked pixel sites enjoy a lot of interest from the public. How long do you think this will last, is there a long term future for pixel pages?

I think that this market is not full yet. The media interest and public awareness of this kind of online advertising is constantly getting better and stronger. More and more people are attracted by pixel sites. Pixel advertising is another way of promoting companies, making your own brand and making your business more efficient and profitable. The traffic it generates is not to be ignored by any big or small company. The benefits it can give you are worth investing.

Besides your own pixel page, which other pixel page do you secretly admire and why?

I admire the original site, milliondollarhomepage.com for making this big turn in advertising strategies. Alex made people look at adverts in totally different way that no one before did.
